Choosing an E-Moto Foot-Brake Kit

Start with your exact bike and the brake arrangement you want to keep. A foot-brake-only option, a full foot-brake kit and a dual hand-and-foot-brake kit can contain very different parts, even when the product names sound similar.

Choose the bike application first

Look for your model in the complete kit's fitment information and select the correct option. Do not assume a kit fits every bike from the same brand. Tell TXC about changes to the rear brake, wheel, rotor, peg bracket or swingarm before selecting mounting parts.

Be especially careful with “Ultra Bee” in a product name. It can refer to a caliper used within a conversion for another bike. For example, the Ultimate Yozma Ultra Bee Foot Brake Kit lists an Ultra Bee caliper as part of a Yozma-focused kit. Read the full description rather than treating the caliper name as a blanket fitment claim.

Full kit or foot-brake-only?

The Surron Ultra Bee Footbrake Kit V3 illustrates why the selected option matters:

  • Full kit: the listing includes a caliper, peg bracket, foot brake, line, master cylinder, bolts and dual-caliper bracket.
  • Foot-brake-only kit: the listing includes the foot brake, line, master cylinder and bolts. It does not list the caliper, peg bracket or dual-caliper bracket included in the full kit.

A smaller option can make sense when you already have the correct complementary hardware, but that hardware needs to be confirmed. Do not choose the lower-priced option on the assumption that it contains the same parts.

Decide whether you want a dual-brake arrangement

If you want both a rear hand brake and a foot brake, compare the complete assemblies and mounting requirements. The Ultimate Dual Brake Kit for Surron/Eride lists rear hand-brake and foot-brake assemblies, two calipers and a rotor. Check its current bike options and confirm the complete mounting arrangement for your setup.

Likewise, the Yozma kit lists a pre-bled hand brake only when that option is added. “If added” means it should not be assumed to come with every configuration.

Your pre-order checklist

  1. Identify the exact bike model and year, plus any modified mounting or brake parts.
  2. Decide whether the kit needs to work alongside your existing rear hand brake.
  3. Compare the selected option's caliper, master cylinder, hose, bracket, rotor and hardware contents.
  4. Confirm which existing components can be retained and which additional parts are required.
  5. Read current availability and fulfillment information for that specific selection.
